We have not been able to find any information on Yoshio Yokoyama though we must admit we have not researched reference material in Japanese. This print includes a detailed description of the photographer's process of making the exposure and the printing of the print and includes his address. This sort of description is indicative of many works that were sent by photographers to salons/exhibitions in the 1930s. It was a period of huge growth in photography due to the process being more affordable and accessible. It is therefore not surprising to find work by someone we have not heard of from this period. However, most lesser known photographers from this period were amateurs working in a Pictorialist style, not Modernist like these works.
